How to add an admin to your LinkedIn account.

How do you add an admin to your LinkedIn account?

Managing your LinkedIn presence can be time-consuming, whether it’s posting updates, responding to messages, or growing your network. Adding an admin can help share these responsibilities—but the approach differs depending on whether you’re managing a LinkedIn page for your business or a personal LinkedIn profile.

For LinkedIn Business Pages

Adding an admin to a LinkedIn page allows someone else to manage your page without sharing your personal login credentials. Here’s how to do it step by step:

Step 1: Log in and access your page

  1. Go to LinkedIn and log in with your personal account credentials.

  2. Click the “Me” icon at the top right of your homepage.

  3. Under “Manage,” click the name of the company LinkedIn page you want to add an admin to.

Step 2: Open admin tools

  1. Once you’re on your company page, click “Settings” at the bottom of the side bar to the left of the screen.

  2. Click “Manage Admins,” then click the blue “+Add Admin” button.

Step 3: Add a new admin

  1. Type the name of the LinkedIn member you want to add. Only people who have LinkedIn profiles can be added.

    • If you’re providing Victori Insight admin access, please enter: Victoria Hoven

  2. Select the role for the person you’re adding:

    • Super Admin – full control (posting, editing page info, managing other admins)

    • Content Admin – can create and manage posts but cannot change page settings

    • Analyst – limited permissions for engagement and analytics

Step 4: Confirm and notify

  1. After choosing the appropriate role, click “Save” or “Add.”

  2. The new admin will receive a notification that they’ve been added. They can now manage your LinkedIn page according to the permissions you assigned.

Review your admins regularly to ensure the right team members have access and remove anyone who no longer needs it.

For personal LinkedIn accounts

LinkedIn does not allow multiple admins or shared access for personal profiles. Personal accounts are linked to an individual and must remain private to protect account security and comply with LinkedIn’s Terms of Service. However, there are situations where you may need to grant a trusted individual limited access to help manage your account safely.

Safe ways to share access

Depending on your goals for sharing access to your personal LinkedIn account, here are some tips for doing so safely and securely.

  1. Use a password manager

    • To share login credentials, avoid sending passwords in plain text—that is, typing them into an email, chat, or document where anyone who intercepts it could see the password. Instead, use tools like OnetIme Secret or Password Link, which let you create a temporary, secure link that your trusted collaborator can use to access your password. Once the link is opened, it expires automatically, and the password is never visible in an unprotected form. You can often set optional expiration times or view limits, keeping your account safe while still enabling collaboration.

  2. Set guidelines

    • Clearly define what the helper can and cannot do, such as limiting them to posting content only.

  3. Consider screen-sharing sessions

    • For more complex tasks, use a screen-sharing tool, like Zoom or Teams, to let someone remotely control your screen or guide you through updates or actions in real-time. They never log in directly, so your credentials remain private.

  4. Regularly review account activity

    • Check your login history and notifications regularly to ensure there are no unauthorized logins or suspicious activity. This helps you catch any potential security issues early.
